This book is about Dante who is a 17 year old who turns 18 later on in the book. He has planned his whole life out and a brilliant future ahead of him. One day his ex girlfriend turns up to his house one day and she has a baby girl with her (Emma). She says its his daughter. She asks him to look after Emma for 5 minutes but never comes back. Dante lives with his brother and father as his mother passed away. At first Dante didn't like Emma much but Dante overcame every obstacle in his way, He grew very fond of emma. On his eighteenth birthday his brother (Adam), and him went out for dinner. When they were walking home they got jumped and Adam got severe injuries.
