Bud not Buddy
Christopher Paul Curtis
Historical Fiction
During the great depression Bud is an American boy who lives in a Home. After being sent to another foster home where they shove a pencil up his nose up to the r and then send him into the shed full of hornets nests, cockroaches and apparently vampire bats, Bud decides to hit the road. He grabs his suitcase and runs first to the local library, where he sleeps between two trees so no one sees him. when he wakes up he goes into the library and finds out how to get to chicago but sees that it will take too long so he decides not to. Bugs (his best friend) finds him and together they go to try catch the trains west so they can work. They find the train but it is already moving so they run to catch it. Bugs manages to get on and catch Buds suitcase but Bud didn't manage so Bugs had to throw his suitcase back to him. Bud made a decision to go back to the library and find out how long it would take to get the grand rapids. According to the thing on the map it would take 24 hours, thats one day and one night, or one night and one day. WHen he gets there he finds out who he thinks his father is really is his father... sort of.
I rate this book a 7/10 because in some chapters it was a bit boring.
